  • Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Technology

    If you are a US-based professional seeking to enhance your skills in geospatial technology, our Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Technology is for you. The Certificate requires 15 credits, including three core courses and two or more electives. Students may receive credit toward the Certificate for past coursework completed at UM or other accredited schools. Graduate students of other programs at UM are welcome to earn the certificate as well.

  • Master of Professional Science (MPS) in Urban Sustainability and Resilience.

    If you are a domestic or international professional interested in green careers and seeking a terminal degree to find a place in the marketplace, then you should apply to our Master of Professional Science (MPS) in Urban Sustainability and Resilience. This innovative and interdisciplinary 36 credit program is offered jointly between our Department and the School of Architecture. The curriculum leverages the knowledge, skills and hands-on practical engagement necessary for students working toward contributing to the urban challenges confronting cities on the front lines of climate change.

  • Master in Arts (MA) in Geography

    Our traditional MA in Geography is suitable for domestic and international students who have at least one of the following goals: (1) qualifying for jobs in the private or government sector that require greater expertise in geographical tools than provided by an undergraduate degree; (2) obtaining the background in geography and geospatial technology required to gain admission to a high-quality geography or multidisciplinary doctoral program; (3) studying geography to complement another area of expertise (law, political science, public health, statistics, energy, marketing, sociology, finance,  business, etc.). Our program offers a rigorous but flexible curriculum with cutting-edge research training in Geography.
