Prof. Grant awarded the Kwado Konadu-Agyemang Distinguished Scholar in African Geography

Professor Richard Grant is the 2020 winner of the Kwado Konadu-Agyemang Distinguished Scholar in African Geography Award. This prestigious award is given annually by the Africa Specialty Group (ASG) of the American Association of Geographers (AAG), to a distinguishing scholar on any aspect of African geography. In 2019, he was a keynote speaker to the International Geographical Union-Africa, presenting on the future of the manufacturing industry in Africa.  Additionly he was an invited panelist at the World Urban Forum, MARMARA, Istanbul, Turkey.

Professor Grant's teaching and research focuses on the urban transformations in metropolitan Africa and in global cities such as Miami.

Professor Grant has authored of two important books about Africa geography:
