Prof. Imelda Moise, a world-recognized medical geographer, was awarded tenure by the Board of Directors of the University of Miami. Prof. Imelda joined the Department of Geography in August 2015 after working for several years in the private sector. In five years, she established an innovative research agenda dealing with communities and families at risk. During this time, she published an edited book, 24 peer-reviewed papers, and four book chapters, obtained federal and foundation grants, received awards, taught both graduate and undergraduate courses, and managed both graduate and undergraduate programs.
