Dr. Ricardo Reboredo accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of International Relations with Metropolitan University Prague. Reboredo studied Geography at the University of Miami (B.A. – 2012; M.A. – 2014) and then earned a Ph.D. in Geography at Trinity College Dublin.
Ricardo’s primary line of research has sought to understand the effects of China’s commercial and political internationalization on the socio-economic structures and state-society relations of countries in the Global South, particularly those in Africa.
Ricardo has published his research findings in academic journals such as Urban Forum and Africa Today, and co-authored a book titled Africa’s Shadow Rise: China and the Mirage of African Economic Development. He has also written media pieces for outlets such as The Conversation, and appeared as a featured guest on the China-Africa Project podcast.
